The Betta is a semi-aggressive fish, and I typically keep other semi-aggressive fish with them.. namely, angel fish. They're not getting along.. they're just deterred from attacking each other because they know the other will fight back. DO NOT put any sort of barb in with them.. even though barbs only are considered semi-aggressive, it's a bit of an understatement, and they LOVE nipping at long fins.
Yes, betas can coexist with other fish in the same tank, but it is important to choose tank mates carefully to ensure compatibility and prevent aggression.

A divider is put into a beta fish tank when there is more than one male in the tank. Male betas will fight until there is only one left alive, so the divider stops them from killing each other.
I have kept fancy gold fish that are around 2x-3x bigger then the beta fish in a 10 gallon tank. There are stories of fish being ripped apart. If you watch the tank after adding a beta you should be able to find out quickly. The less crowed the tank the better. Betas are very territorial of space.
no. betas don't get along with any fish, even with other betas. they will kill each other.
It is possible, as long as it has enough room to turn within the narrow tank. Glass vases also serve as homes for betas.
No, male Beta fish should never be put in the same bowl or tank. They are aggressive fighting fish. That's why in the pet store, they are always separated in one bowl. Good Luck!
Betas are tropical fish and do best in water that is consistently warm, around 78-80°F. Cold water can stress them out and lead to health problems. It's important to keep their tank at a stable temperature to keep them healthy and happy.
Community style tank would be best for relaxing and smaller. Tetras, Danios, female Betas, cory cats, etc.
no cause betas are territorial creatures and are not supposed to be with any other fish. so Ive heard
he y just got 10 gallon tank with 1 bta. Shr is happy with plenty of hidin spots, happy, happy, happy. Q is can I implement more fish.,,,,,What kinds an how soon! HOW IS THE BEST WAY TO DO IT?
The amount of fish depends on what type want or own. The most popular cold water fish is the gold fish. They are about 2 to 3 inches long. The sizing rule is 1 inch of fish per gallon. I would recommend 1 or 2 gold fish. It is unhealthy for the fish to live in an overpopulated tank. Note to never place 2 or more betas in the same tank or they kill or fight each other.
