A 5-carbon sugar, Phoshate group, and a nitrogenous base make nucleotides. The nucleotides are made of adenine, guanine, cytosice, thymine, and uracil. The nucleotides make the nucleic acids. Nucleic acids are made in only two types, Deoxyribonucleic acid(DNA) and Ribonucleic Acid (RNA)

Short answer: There are five elements that makeup DNA. Carbon (C), Hydrogen (H), Nitrogen (N), Oxygen (O), and Phosphorous (P). DNA is made of chemical building blocks called nucleotides. These building blocks are made of three parts: a phosphate group, a sugar group and one of four types of nitrogen bases. The phosphate group has hydrogen, oxygen, and of course phosphate.
