Pterosaurs
Pterosaurs
Pterodactyls were flying reptiles, slowly flourishing during the Mesozoic and disappearing with the dinosaurs 65 million years ago.
There were many species of flying reptiles that lived during the Mesozoic Era. Some examples of them are Pteranodon, Pterodactyl, and Quetzalcoatlus.
The two main types of reptiles that existed in the Mesozoic Era were dinosaurs and pterosaurs. Dinosaurs were land-dwelling reptiles that roamed the Earth, while pterosaurs were flying reptiles that ruled the skies.
Yes, pterosaurs were flying reptiles. They existed alongside the dinosaurs during the Mesozoic era. The largest known pterosaur had a 30 foot wingspan, and was the largest known flying animal to have ever existed.
The hollow bones and feathers of birds made them better adapted to their environment than the flying reptiles which became extinct during the Cretaceous Period. Sources: My science book and my own knowledge
We don't really know what colors the Mesozoic animals were because the pigments didn't survive the mineralization process. More significantly, there were no flying dinosaurs. There were flying REPTILES, but they were another kind of creature entirely.
pterodactyl was NOT a dinosaur it was from a group of flying creatures called pterosaurs it was a carnivore
Pterosaurs, which were flying reptiles, evolved around the same time that dinosaurs did. Birds evolved from dinosaurs during the Age of Dinosaurs, too.
The only known reptiles to have evolved powered flight were pterosaurs. Thus, all pterosaurs were flying reptiles and all flying reptiles are pterosaurs.
No only one Flying reptile
Pterodactyls were a group of flying reptiles known as pterosaurs that lived during the Mesozoic Era. The largest known species, Quetzalcoatlus, had a wingspan of around 33 feet (10 meters) and could weigh up to 500 pounds (250 kg).
