Is gravity the force that pulls objects together?

The exact scientific explanations of gravity are far too complex for this forum. The simple explanation is that every body that has mass attracts every other body that has mass. The more massive the two bodies are the more they attract each other. The more distant they are, the less they attract. Earth has a huge mass, billions and billions of times the size of a human. All of that taken together pulls everything and everyone toward the center of the earth. You may not be aware of it, but your body is also pulling the earth toward you. We can see the effect of a smaller body pulling on a larger one when we see the tides. The moon, a quarter of a million miles away, is affecting the water and the outer crust of the earth, even though the moon is only a little more than 1% of the earth's mass. Further out, tiny Pluto was discovered (in part) because it was affecting the orbits of the gas giant planets Neptune and Uranus.

Why does gravity pulls objects to earth?

Gravity is the cause of a pair of forces that attract any two specks of mass toward each other. The forces act along the line between the centers of the objects. As long as you're anywhere near Earth, the forces of gravity pull the Earth toward the center of you, and pull you toward the center of the Earth (and they're equal).

What pulls all objects in the universe including the moon and earth and the sun and earth towards each other?

gravity

When the gravitational pulls of the sun and the moon partially cancel each other out earth experiences what type of tide?

When the gravitational pulls of the sun and moon partially cancel each other out, Earth experiences a neap tide.

What is the force that pulls all objects to the earth?

GRAVITY... 2nd answer: The force that pulls all objects toward each other is gravity. The earth exerts the force of gravity on you, and you exert the force of gravity on the earth ( or your couch, dog, etc). We notice Earth's force of gravity because it is huge compared with the force of gravity of our bodies .... or the force of gravity of our bowling balls, and so forth.

What pulls objects toward earths surface?

Gravity pulls the earth and anything on its surface together, toward each others' centers. This is important to understand:-- There is a pair of gravitational forces between you and the Earth.-- One force pulls you toward the center of the Earth. The other one pulls the Earth toward the center of you.-- The forces are equal.Your weight on Earth is the same as the Earth's weight on you.

Which is the force that pulls objects toward centre of the earth?

The force that pulls an object toward earth also pulls the earth toward the object. The two forces are equal. Together, we refer to them as the force of gravity.Isaac Newton developed this concept.Gravity. The Earth has more mass than the object, it pulls it towards its' center.

What is a force that pulls objects toward each other?

The force of gravity pulls things towards each other. Magnetism also can pull objects towards each other, but it doesn't always. It can also repel.

What direction Earth gravitational force acts in?

-- Gravitational force always shows up as a pair of equal forces, between the centers of two masses, and in the directions that pull the masses toward each other. -- If you 'weigh' 100 pounds, that means that one gravitational force of 100 pounds pulls you toward the center of the Earth, and the other gravitational force of the pair ... also 100 pounds ... pulls the Earth toward the center of you. -- We have a name for the direction of the force that pulls us toward the center of the Earth. We call that direction "down". It's actually many different directions at different places on Earth, but it always points toward the Earth's center, and we always call it "down".
