The Modoc Indians of Oregon and forcibly removed to Oklahoma, lived in two homes generally. In the winter they would live in subterranean homes covered in dirt and snow. In the summer, they lived in thatched homes made out of tule reeds. They also built sweat houses for ceremonial uses.
