If you look at the food pyramid it's at the bottom, in the rice, pasta, bread and cereal category (grain).Pancakes belong to the carbohydrate part of the food pyramid, or basic-six food group, as does bread; in the basic-five group they belong to the bread group.
Chili peppers belong in the vegetable food group.
Snails, or escargot, belong in the protein food group.
