I dont think there is material stored in the cotyledon of a bean seed a cotyledon is "metaphorically" a baby seed plant
The cotyledons contain the stored food reserves of the seed. As these reserves are used up, the cotyledons may turn green and start to photosynthesize or may wither as the first true leaves take over food production for the seedling.
yes food is stored in the seeds
In most of dicot seeds the endosperm is used up by the developing embryo and the food material for the seedling is stored in the cotyledons.
Of course cotyledons are small structures! They are "inside" seeds!
Angiosperm seeds have eather one or two seed leaves called cotyledons. Cotyledons contain stored food that is used when a seed graminates, or begins to grow. Monocots, such as corn, have one cotledon. Dicots, suchs as bean, have two.

plants having cotyledons
6
A. There are approx. 2 cotyledons in a mango.
Monocotyledon seeds are different from dicotyledon seeds in the fact that they only one cotyledon, but dicotyledon seeds have two cotyledons.
DICOT
the cotyledons provide food to it
they provide nutrients for the germinating plant.
