as soon as they stepped down. so if they stepped in mud, then kept walking on.. there would be a footprint.. its footprints like these that palentoligists find.. that's why the footprints they find are from millions of years ago.

Well its when there feet get wet or when there paws are sweating is when they can track footprints. Like if you dog steps in made then you will see dog prints.
Since reindeer have hooves, the tracks would most likely look like deer prints.

Because there is no wind or other weather on the moon, there is nothing to weather the footprints. Barring a meteor strike or something like that, or tourists (!), they will stay there forever.

You find them in Crystal Sands everywhere like the flamingo standing near a big greenish rock.

"Take only photographs" means a visitor should not pick up and remove anything like bugs, plants, rocks, etc. "Leave only footprints" means a visitor should pack out what they bring in and not leave any litter or otherwise deface the area. Some areas require that human waste be packed out. As youngsters, we were taught that we always left a place better than the way we found it - which meant we picked up everything everyone else left behind.
