Weight is , actually, the force experienced by a body on the earth's surface due to earth's gravity.

It is expressed as the same way as force

Force = mass*acceleration

where as

weight = mass*acceleration due to gravity

Since mass of a body is constant and gravity is almost constant(9.8 m/s2 ) except at the poles where it is (10 m/s2 ) , a body has the same weight, wherever it is on earth.

What is the force acting on a weight and what are the forces acting on weightlifter?

The force acting on a weight is its gravitational force, which is the force pulling it downward towards the Earth. The forces acting on a weightlifter when lifting a weight include the gravitational force acting on the weight being lifted, the normal force exerted by the ground pushing back up on the weightlifter, and the muscular force applied by the weightlifter to lift the weight against gravity.

Measure of force of gravity acting in an object?

The measure of the force of gravity acting on an object is its weight. Weight is the force exerted by gravity on the mass of an object, and it is typically measured in units such as pounds or newtons. The weight of an object can vary depending on the strength of the gravitational field acting upon it.

Weight is the (blank) acting on an object?

Weight is the force acting on an object due to gravity.

The force produce by gravity acting on mass is known as?

The force produced by gravity acting on mass is known as weight. It is the force exerted by gravity on an object due to its mass. Weight is a force measured in newtons and is directly proportional to an object's mass.

What is a weight?

"Weight" is a measure of gravitational force acting on an object.

How can you change the weight of an object?

You can change the weight of an object by altering its mass or the force acting on it. Increasing the mass of the object will increase its weight, while decreasing the force acting on it will decrease its weight.

How are weight and force are related?

Weight is the gravitational force acting on an object due to its mass. The force of gravity on an object affects its weight, with weight typically measured in units of force like Newtons. Thus, weight and force are related through the gravitational force acting on an object due to its mass.

What force or forces are acting on the crate?

The weight of the crate is acting downward on the ground and the ground is exerting a force equal to the weight of the crate upward on the crate.

What is the given name for the force of gravity acting on you?

It is your weight, which manifests as a downward force exerted by your body, although it is also an acceleration to a greater force if you fall.

What does measure the force of gravity acting on an object mean?

Measuring the force of gravity acting on an object involves quantifying the pull that Earth's gravity exerts on the object. This is typically done using a scale or a balance to determine the object's weight, which is a measure of the gravitational force acting on it. Weight is directly proportional to the force of gravity.

What does weight measure?

Weight is the measurement of gravitational force on an object, relevant to Earth.

What is the force of gravity acting on the block (the weight) in water?

The force of gravity on a block is the same, whether it is in air or in the water. The apparent weight (the force you need to keep it from falling) is less in water, due to the buoyancy force, which counteracts the weight.
