It depends on the movie and receiver. The formats are either MPEG-2 or MPEG-4. Our HD receivers are in MPEG-4 and the other receivers are in MPEG-2. Eventually they will all be in MPEG-4.
DISH Network does not currently offer services in Canada.
There are many satellites that Dish Network uses.
You can use the dish but not the LNB; it will not work for dtv. The DISH Network LNB and the receiver decodes the signal and gives you a picture on your TV.
The codes we here at DISH Network have & would use to attempt to program the DISH Network remote with your Olevia TV would be, 506 or 127.
Dish Network has a Canadian company called Dish Network Canada. You would have to subscribe to their services. Whether or not you could use old equipment would be a question only they could answer.
DISH Network uses quite a few different Satellites, not only one. The satellites we currently use consist of the following, 61.5, 72.7, 77, 110, 118.75, 119, and 129.
http://www.dishnetwork.com/receivers/dvr/default.aspx Dish Network has several hdtv receivers for use in the home. The model VIP922 has a 1TB hard drive for recording
Sorry to inform you but there is a company called DISH high speed internet. It is part of the DISH network so you will have issues if you use their name.
I just wanted to clarify the previous answer. DISH Network is available in Canada but provided by Bell Canada. The programming packages are different from the packages in the United States. All equipment is provided by Bell Canada.
Yes, you can use an HDMI cable to connect your dish network receiver box to your DVD recorder or the normal AV cables. However, HDMI is perfectly advisable to use.
My Dish Network receiver is connected to my home LAN and the internet via TCP/IP for remote control of my DVR, on-demand movie downloads, etc. IIRC, there's a place in the Dish OnLine menu to get the receiver to request an IPv4 address from a DHCP server. If there's no IP address, then there's no remote control, online movies, etc. I'd bet that DirecTV has a similar setup.
No you cannot. The receiver decodes the signal coming from the satellite that is unique to DISH Network.
