Hi! Actually movie or video of many formats could be burnt to DVD, what's important is that if your DVD burner supports that format.

That depends what format its in, best would be the AVI format which keeps movies at around 700mb and you can burn them. Mp4's and other formats can be around 1.5Gb.

You can convert your movie to DVD format first.And use a DVD Burner software to burn a disc.Like Nero. Ihave already burnt the movie to a DVD disc but it will not play on my dvdtv

yes you can the old videocd format that was used by Phillips on there old cdi format
When you have finished your project and wish to burn it to DVD using Windows Movie Maker, click on DVD under the Publish/Finish category in the left side menu. This will open up Windows DVD Maker and you can burn your project by following the instructions in DVD Maker.
Philips Dvp520 does not support DivX format unfortunately. When you use Nero to burn movies, use the Movie function ( it will convert automatically into a format that your DVD player does support ). The only con is, you are only able to put 1 movie onto a DVD at a time ( divx would support up to 5 movies covering 700MB per movie).
