Evolution by Natural Selection developed by Charles Darwin. His theory has two parts. Natural selection. This means that a species or distinct form of life changes or evolves over many generations. Then the mechanisms for this species change. This is called natural selection.

Inheritance or the theory of biological evolution was developed by Gregor Mendel.
The principles of inheritance proposed from his experiments with common pea plants have been successfully applied to all organisms. In today's news scientists are finding that the common housefly has similar genetic makeup as humans.

Cells studied by Matthias Schleiden and Theodor Schwann proposed the cell theory. This theory states that all organisms are composed of cells ,and that all cells come from preexisting cells.

Homeostasis studied by Claud Bernad. In the mid-19th century. Claude Bernard realized that organisms function best when their internal conditions are maintained within rather narrow limits. Organisms tolerate widely varying external conditions by maintaining stable conditions internally. The manner in which they do so constitutes the study of physiology.

Charles Darwin (February 1809 to April 1882) is most known for his contributions to the theory of evolution. The four theories he came up with were variability between individuals of a population, some variations are heritable, the more offspring produced means the higher the survival rate, and some produced have favorable variations that aid in their survival and reproduction.
