There were two main fraternities featured in the 1978 movie, National Lampoons' Animal House. Delta Tau Chi (Eric "Otter" Stratton, et al "the animals") and Omega Theta Pi (Greg Marmelard, Doug Niedermayer, etc)

Washington University in St. Louis, MO. However, some say much of the plot and scenes were based on activities that may have taken place at the University of Missouri-Columbia (Mizzou). This is also the reason why Mizzou was the original destination of filming before it was denied by the President of the University due to the nature of the film.
