Gustave Doré
Paul Gustave Doré is the French illustrator who is famous for his bible illustrations. He was born on 1832, and started drawing at age five.
French illustrator Gustave Doré was famous for his artwork in Dante's Inferno, Poe's 'Raven' and many many other works of his day, but he never 'wrote' a Bible.Around 1860 he was asked to illustrate a new English Bible(1866). These illustrations were later used in Bibles of many languages in 19th Century Europe.
