Fanta. During World War Two, production of Coca-Cola (a US soft-drink) ended in Germany and other places in Europe. The Germans created an alternative to Coca-Cola called Fanta.

After the war, Coca-Cola purchased the rights to Fanta, and began Fanta production world-wide. Fanta has various flavors worldwide and within each country only a few of these are available.

For example the Orange Fanta in the US is a different flavor than the Orange Fanta found in Germany. These differences are designed to meet the local tastes and create special market segments and thereby increasing overall market share.

At the Coca-Cola museum in Atlanta the various world-wide Fanta flavors can be sampled & compared.
