Actually they problaby can-if their dried out. I have a chinchilla myself and I give it a cheerio and a raisin every day and she loves it. But an apple may have too much sugar or other ingredients that may hurt it. Look at the ingredients first and make sure its safe. ----
NEVER EVER feed it fresh fruit.
In fact don't even feed it dried fruit.
It may like raisins... but it's bad for them due to the high concentration of sugars.
Fresh fruit has much water in them so it may cause bloating and cause them to explode... well not really but it will kill them.
It really depends on whether they are fond of grapes, maybe you should try feeding them one and see how they feel about that. just talk to them and find out their view. Remember, its the chinchillas we need to focus on, not you. Don't force them if they don't want to its their choice.
