SUM is the most commonly used one, but you also have Count, Average, Min, Max, Product, Count Numbers, StdDev, StdDevP, Var and VarP.

The Insert Function dialog box contains a list of predefined functions available in Excel. Click the Insert Function box, and in the search bar, type in a description of what you want to do. Click OK, and then browse through the functions. If you already know the name of a function, choose it from the box.
It is known as the Insert Function dialog box. You can get help from it and information on the arguments it may have.
You can use the Insert Function button fx on the Formula bar to find an Excel function by typing a description of the formula at the Insert Function dialog box, in the Search for a function text box and then click Go.
Functions can be entered directly in the Formula Bar. Beside the Formula Bar you will see the fx icon. Clicking on it will open up a dialog box to allow you to enter a function.
The PMT function calculates what the payment will be. It does not ask you what each payment will be. So there is no part of the PMT dialog box where you enter each payment. As you type values into the boxes provided, at the bottom of the dialog box it does show what the result would be based on the values you've entered.
You are probably referring to the formula bar. It displays the current content of cells and allows you to add in formulas, labels or values into a cell. You can also start the Insert Function dialog box by clicking on the fx at the beginning of the formula bar. You can choose a function from there and it can be included in a formula.
Insert Function in Excel allows you to enter a function into your worksheet. You can choose your function from different categories fo functions. It will also give you a little help on the function so that you can use it in the correct way.
