n - Oxygen and Acetylene are the original gasses that are used for welding/cutting. Newer mixtures are slowly replacing Acetylene as a fuel. These gasses don't always reach the temperatures attained by Acetylene. Us old-timers still prefer Acetylene.
That's what gases do. All types of gas fill the space that is available to them. It is the result of random thermal motion.

There are no gasses used in an electric bulb. What's inside is something known as energy. It is known as this because it gives off light. Neon is a gas that is used in light bulbs.
If your question is "Why is Acetylene and Oxygen used for welding/cutting NOT Oxygen and air"? This is why. Acetylene and air mixed in correct proportions produces a flame temperature of 4500F to 4800F degrees. Acetylene mixed with Oxygen in the correct proportions produces a flame well above 5500F degrees. This extra heat melts the metal faster and increases the speed you can cut or weld. Other gasses instead of Acetylene are used but do not produce as high a temperature. Oxygen is almost always used with these other gasses.
There are many uses for thermal conductivity. Thermal conductivity can be used to heat things like water and gasses are typically poor conductors.
Yes. In fact, this is how gasses pass along thermal energy. Convection encompasses all types of liquids including gasses.
There are many different methods in cutting using lasers, with different types used to cut different material. Some of these methods are vaporization, melt and blow, melt blow and burn, thermal stress cracking, scribing and cold cutting and burning stabilized laser cutting.

Convection requires a liquid or gas.
CO2 laser cutting carbon steel with oxygen is an exothermic (thermal) process. The oxygen used with the laser cutting burns the steel, thus assisting the cutting process. This process causes striations, or lines, to form at the cutting edge and provides lower cut quality but faster cutting. In contrast, when cutting stainless steel with nitrogen, only the heat from a CO2 laser performs the melting (operating in the far infrared region at 10600 nanometers). The nitrogen assist gas pushes the melted material down and out of the way, leaving the cut that is typically a polished edge.
Plasma Cutting is fast, accurate and high quality machines and was originally developed for the thermal cutting of materials which were unsuitable for flame cutting machine, such as high alloy top gantry type steel plate cnc plasma cutting or aluminium. Greenhouse gasses are gases in the atmosphere that absorb, and that emit radiation within the thermal infrared range. Greenhouse Gases in the atmosphere include water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide.
ask jon simpson hes gay enough to anwser it .
Yes. The greenhouse effect is caused by gasses that block thermal radiation from a planet's surface.
