You might just try to clean your vagina with soap and water. However, if you are having strong odors even after bathing you might have an infection. Some infections can be painless and an odor is the only indication. Contact your doctor or clinic. Douching is not really a good idea anyway as it will remove the natural flora in your vigina and can set you up for infection.

One of the best ways to eliminate vaginal odors is to add a small amount of vinegar to bath water. Wash with mild soap and be sure to rinse well.

ALL any woman needs is regular bathing to minimize *normal* odors.

Also, the vagina has certain normal odors that are simply-- normal ! You shouldn't feel embarrassed or think you aren't clean enough if you wash regularly but have some slight odor. Vaginas often have a musky smell which is perfectly normal.

* Some odors are signs of infection, though. You should have an evaluation by a good GYN doctor to be sure. Treatment of usual infections only takes 1 to 2 weeks and is well worth going to the Dr. Also, untreated infection *can* migrate into the uterus and cause Pelvic Inflammatory disease, a very painful condition.

So first, stop using air fresheners. Use a natural product like Vingegar externally. They also sell vinegar-based douches -- BUT -- women can really mess up the natural pH inside the vagina by douching too much. Normal Ph levels keep bacteria in control and infections from starting. And, never use straight vinegar to douche!

And, get evaluated if an abnormal odor persists or if you have a discharge.
