Sweat glands. Sweat is secreted through the skin, and the liquid water absorbs heat and evaporates, and carries the heat away from the skin. To restore your body, you must drink enough water as you have perspired away, along with salt and other electrolytes that were carried out to the skin, and which dry on the skin.

This is why your sweat tastes salty, and why you itch when the sweat evaporates and leaves the salt on your skin.
