birch plywood like other plywood is lots bits of wood stuck together with glue or resin
MDF isn't plywood, it's more like thick masonite. It's a composite board that's made of sawdust, paper pulp and glue
You use a thick plywood as the base for this project. Stick an edge around it then glue items onto the plywood. For durability ,you can pour clear resin over the items once set in place. This will give a hard, lasting finish.
the kind that is sticky
Too much or too little glue during manufacturing is a common cause of plywood delaminations. Other glue-related causes can trace back to bad glue used by the manufacturer. Glue can spoil, retain too much moisture or get contaminated, causing it to fail after you use the plywood.
Many 'industrial' adhesives available in 'caulk' tubes will glue plywood to cement. PL Premium is one of the best.
Epoxy is the best one.
The cost of plywood is determined by "board feet," that is one board foot of plywood is one cubic foot. The variety of the wood, the number of plys or layers, the grade of wood, and the type of glue used are all determinant factors in the cost. So, to determine the cost of one gram, you would need to weigh one board foot of the variety you choose. Determine the quantity that would weigh one gram, and divide the cost of one board foot by the number of grams in that board foot.
Make sure wall is dry and has been for a while. Place plywood against wall where you are going to attach it and drill appropriate holes using 3/16 drill bit thru plywood and then mark wall. Then using 5/16 masonary drill bit and hammer drill drill holes where marked and using a little bit of construction glue and alligator plugs lightly hammer plugs into wall. Let them dry for a few minutes. Then generously apply construction glue to concrete wall, place plywood against wall and using a 1 1/2 inch roofing screw which has metal and rubber rings attach plywood to wall. Over time moisture might become a problem but it should last a very long time. However don't do this where moisture is an issue
Ficem Board is a light weight fiber cement board which is immune to permanent moisture damage.Marine PlywoodMany Australians grow up with the belief that Marine Plywood is a 'special' product made with secret adhesives that make it virtually indestructible. This is an urban myth. The adhesive (glue) that is used to bond the veneers of Marine Plywood together is the same as any other structural plywood that is manufactured in Australia.Marine Plywood is designed to absorb these forces due to the fact that this plywood is the closest to solid wood. In fact it is better than solid wood with defects having been graded out.
Attach it with a glue
If the carpet glue is dense enough to affect your tile cement then you should remove it by sanding. -If it's only sparse then it won't matter.
