Only one of the greatest tragedies ever written! Their deaths send a message against discrimination. To accept everyone no matter what "family" they may be from; that if you're daughter were to fall madly in love with a boy from a "family" you didn't approve of, to just get over it because they're going to see each other anyways!
Despite the tragic deaths of Romeo and Juliet, their families were ultimately able to reconcile and end their feud. This reconciliation helped bring peace to Verona and prevent further violence between the Montagues and Capulets. Additionally, the deaths of Romeo and Juliet served as a cautionary tale about the destructive nature of hatred and feuding.
Of course, Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy but there is one good thing that resulted from their suicides. That is, their deaths ended the hostility between the Capulets and the Monagues, their deaths "bury their parents' strife."
The hatred of the montague's and capulet's ended and they each built a statue in rememberence,of eachothers children.
It's ironic that when Mercutio teases Romeo about being in love with Rosaline, Romeo is really in love with Juliet. It's ironic that the Friar advises Romeo to "love moderately" as he is about to perform the very sudden marriage between the passionate young people. Friar Laurence points out an irony as he gathers herbs: used correctly, poisonous herbs can cure disease, and vice-versa. This irony is mirrored in the play as whole, in which an good thing, the love of Romeo and Juliet, leads to their deaths, and a bad thing, the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, leads to a good thing, the end of the feud between the families.
Well, at least their families, or what is left of them, are not fighting any more.
Yes, they were.
Its a good book.
Hard to say, because she is not anyone's friend, unless you count Romeo. The Nurse is Juliet's friend but Juliet does not fill that role for the Nurse.
romues and juliet
The bad thing about the society in Romeo and Juliet is that they are very warlike and are always fighting for no good reason.
I'd think a good cliffhanger would be when Romeo is banished from Verona and when he leaves and Juliet is watching him go.
Nobody. Juliet just fell in love with Romeo at a party.
Romeo often refers to Juliet as the light in his life that cuts through the darkness.
Balthasar tells Romeo that Juliet had just died and that he saw the Capulets at her funeral. Even though this is misinformation, Romeo believes Balthasar because he had not got the message form Friar Laurence about the plan.
