War is not generally considered good. Usually a lot of people get killed and a lot of stuff gets broken. Sometimes it is necessary for a good country to go to war to stop a bad country.
Answer No. 2
Beware the following response is not regarded by me or anyone else to be true, I'm sure however that many truths are there however simplified they are.
Imagine this....
You live in a house with three other people you do not like. You assume they do not like you. In reality this is true and each person does have some sort of minor conflict, which often grows from little tolerance for differences, with the next, it could even be that you are fed up with having to share a space which you feel is inadequate, with others.
When you run into a 'housemate' in the kitchen you say hello and present a reluctant smile, you do not go much further then that. When another housemate enters, even less enthusism is expressed in response to their presence. You all go about your business and can barely concentrate on what you are doing because the overwhelming tension is sucking your concentration straight back towards the two people you are trying most to
ignore.
Now imagine how much relief you would feel when you leave, imagine how relieved you would feel if they left, and imagine you had the power, simply to cause them to never have to use the kitchen nor the house again.
My conclusion.....War is not good, but imagine how awkward the world would be without it. It is often easier to respect an enemy rather then an annoying associate (superficial friend). And if you could make someone/people do something without using force/war then good for you, it requires much more intellectual ability and energy. However, if you can make someone/some people do things which are unfavourable for them without forcing them to, than it asks the question; 'is it war we should be discussing here in order to answer the question or is it the reasons why it happens in the first place?'
This leaves the question open to the exact opposite response of, 'war is good', as it is something which expresses problems in a way which can be seen and debated/advocated.
Other methods which would be used in place of war whether political, economical or cultural etc, could be worse and carried out without people realising giving them an even smaller say in the matter.
Take this one example....Enemies of countries are often treated with trade embargoes without there being a declaration of war. Many people in the affected country can die from this as things such as medical supplies being stopped can obviously cause many deaths. Without war there would be something else to take its place as far as I can see, that is of course before people change their nature and way of surviving and developing.
What are the good points of war? I can only think of only one, as it reduces overpopulation, as do the other Three Horsemen. Since we have no natural predator to do it for us, we must rely on war, famine, and plague.
It's an interesting question because many people assume that war has only negative aspects. War has been famously described as "diplomacy by other means". When two (or more) nations have a disagreement that they are unable to resolve by means of diplomatic negotiation, then war is their remaining option by which they can resolve the disagreement (although, of course, they can also simply leave the disagreement unresolved, by agreeing to disagree). War settles issues, that is a positive aspect, although war does so at an extremely high cost, both in money and in lives, which is a negative aspect. To just give one example of this, there was once a lot of disagreement in the US over the issue of slavery, about whether it should or shouldn't be permitted, about what to do with escaped slaves, etc., and all of that was settled in a very final way by the Civil War, so that slavery is no longer an issue in the US. But half a million Americans died in the process of settling that issue.
I should also note that there are many, many innocent bystanders who are harmed by war. These are people who have done nothing to create the war, who are not necessarily even trying to assert that their nation is right about whatever it is that has provoked the war, but who get killed anyway, because modern warfare is not restricted to battlefields, but spills over into civilian populations. War is very cruel.
It's both. Some wars can be justified, but not all. Some people believe that all war is bad and preventable. But that is not true. As long as there are humans there will be war. That's the sad truth that many try to deny
take it for me war is bad because many people die, and you also have to spend a load of money, if you like it or not if you have anymore quistions here is my email krusherkrug@gmail.com
Medical procedures, transportation systems, construction techniques, exploration vehicles (Outer Space and Inner Space).
Accelerates technology; the words you just typed on your computer are the result of war.
This quote is simply saying that peace is better than war. If there "never was a good war" that means that all war is bad; and if "there never was a bad peace" then all peace is good.
Benjamin Franklin is the person who the quote "There never was a good war or a bad peace" is attributed to.
There is no bad side or good side but Russia was on the Allies Side.
Terrible-awful-no-good-very-bad
My opinion of the Civil War is that it's good and bad at the same time. It's good because if we didn't have a war, we might still have slavery in some parts of the US. I, myself, dislike war so I think it's bad because it ruins parts of the world and kills many organisms.
War Can be good if there is a good reward or concept but it can be bad
bad

they are not bad or good.

That is more of an opinion. In some people's opinions, it is a good war. In some other's, bad. Also, you need to be much more specific as to what constitutes "good" and "bad" - like most wars, there are many different aspects to the American Civil War. Which aspects of the War are you interested in?

It was bad for me.
they are good because they help us and we help them!
was the spanish american war a good or bad
war machine is good its obvious because he helps iron man.
There was no "good side" in the civil war. There are no good or bad people. People just do what they think is best.
