For example, a student may be required to maintain a 3.5 GPA to get into a College of Education in one school while another only requires you to have a 3.0 GPA. Also, teachers are required, through No Child Left Behind, to acquire a "highly qualified" status in a certain number of years. Also, teachers are required, in Ohio anyway, to pass the PRAXIS exams - exams that test the content knowledge of teachers, as well as their teaching know how.
