Most Ancient Greek philosophers assumed that the Sun, Moon, stars, and planets circled the Earth, including the systems of Aristotle (according the Aristotelian physics) and Ptolemy.
Aristotle was the first to develop a geocentric theory. But it is generally accepted that the Greek astronomer Ptolemy provided the most elaborated model of the geocentric view of the universe in which the Earth was the center. This idea lasted for centuries until the time of Copernicus.
Claudius Ptolemy was a Greco-Egyptian writer, philosopher, mathematician and astrologer. He lived in Alexandria Egypt and that is where most of his notable work was done.
In 350 BC, Aristotle wrote Meteorology.[3] Aristotle is considered the founder of meteorology.[4] One of the most impressive achievements described in the Meteorology is the description of what is now known as the hydrologic cycle.[5]
Ptolemy was the famous Alexandrian responsible for the most popular map printed from movable type in the fifteenth century. The Ptolemy's world map is a map of the known world to Hellenistic society written in c. 150.

He believed that these individuals were most likely to govern with the common good in mind rather than pursuing their own self-interest.
Aristotle's teacher was Plato, who founded the Academy in Athens where Aristotle studied for around 20 years. Aristotle went on to become one of the most influential philosophers in history.
