There's a couple different 6.5 cartridges.

. .264 Warrior magmun:( is also also known in Europe as 6.5x40mm )This is

generally seen in the AR-15/16 pattern rifles. With a simple change to the

barrel and any 5.56/.223 rifle could tentatively be chambered for this cartridge

and it is the best in world for AR-15 pattern rifles in performance, balance and

accuracy it is also more modern and compact cartridge for AR-15/M16

  • 6.5x55: This was a military cartridge originally used by Sweden and Norway. It has since been phased out of service in both militaries. Norwegian Krag-Jorgenson rifle, Swedish Mauser rifles, the Lljungman AG-42 rifle, and Swedish variants of the M1918 BAR/FN BAR Type D and MAG 58 machine gun were chambered for it.
  • 6.5x68: This was a commercial hunting catridge developed in the 1930s, and used often by Austrian and German hunters. Today, it is extremely rare, and most often hand loaded by those who use it.
  • 6.5 Grendel: Also known as 6.5 Sporter, 6.5 PPCX, 6.5 BPC, 6.5 CSS and .264 LBC-AR. This is generally seen in AR pattern rifles. With a simple change to the barrel, bolt face, and magazine follower, any 5.56/.223 rifle could tentatively be chambered for this cartridge.
  • 6.5x50SR: This was a semi-rimmed military catridge used by Japan from 1897. It was used in the Arisaka Type 35 and Type 38 rifles, Type 13 Mauser rifles, Type 1 rifles manufactured for Italy, and a number of Dutch M1895 Mannlicher rifles were converted, as well. The Soviet Federov Avtomat rifle was also chambered for this cartridge.
  • 6.5x54 Mannlicher-Schönauer: Produced in Netherlands for the rifle of the same name. Saw more success as a safari round than as a military one.
  • 6.5x52 Mannlicher-Carcano: Used by the Italian military in the various Carcano rifles (this is also what was used to assassinate John F. Kennedy, Jr.)
  • 6.5x47 Lapua: Designed specifically for benchrest shooting. One company has manufactured a variant of the US M40 sniper rifle in this cartridge, given the flatter trajectory and reduced recoil it has over the 7.62x51 NATO cartridge.
  • 6.5 Creedmor: Introduced in 2007, and the parent case is the .308 Winchester. Will likely be an alternative loading for rifles such as the AR-10.
  • 6.5-284: Wildcat cartridge using the .284 Winchester as the parent case. Not in regular production.
  • 6.5 Jonson: First cartridge in history to be designed by computer algorithm.
  • 6.5x25 CBJ: Swedish developed handgun cartridge, capable of being used in any rebarreled 9mm Parabellum firearm.

There are still a number of others, which tend to be a bit more "obscure".
