I'm guessing that the plant will die because it won't have anything to transport the water and minerals with.

∙ 11y agoIt will die as the roots cannot take in sugar from the phloem. The plant, which survive using sugar, cannot photosynthesis as water is needed to do so and died. Cheers, M.
