It could, speak to your doctor about your medications and follow your doctors advice. Do not just stop taking the steroids! You must be weaned off them gradually. It is very dangerous to just stop taking them by yourself, especially if you are on a high dose.
I was wondering what would happen when you stop taking plaquenil after trying it out for 3- 6 months.
If you stop it all at once you will crash hard . You will have some severe physical and mental/emotional symptoms . Never go off your meds without the reccomendation or supervision of your doctor .
falling, taking meds you shouldnt, drinking, doing drugs, smoking.... however most happen because of genetic defects and are not your fault nor could you have one anything to stop it or prevent it

It is not recommended to stop any medication without the direction and guidance of a physician, especially meds that are taken long term. Some meds can cause severe reactions if stopped abruptly. *Always discuss your health concerns with your physician.
What happens after discontinuation of thyroid meds is entirely dependent upon which thyroid meds you are taking. Thyroid supplementation is necessary for life and without it you will die. If the meds you are taking are slowing down the production of thyroid hormone because you have hypERthyroidism, then the thyroid will again overproduce hormone and you will become sick. If you have cancer and choose not to have RAI, you may have a recurrence of your cancer.
That might depend on what the medication is, and what condition you are being treated for. I suggest you consult with your doctor.
Your cholesterol goes up
A: It's not a good idea to stop taking anti depressants without talking to your doctor. They'll explain why. Some meds need to be titrated , to wean you down to avoid unwanted side effects. Do NOT do this on your own. Please.
If your getting spasms or jerks, etc., write down all the meds your taking and at what time of day. Take this to your Psychiatrist/Doctor to see if the meds are fighting against each other. If not, ask for meds comparable (equal) to the ones you've been taking, but different so they can stop the TD's from happening. At least that's what I did when I started jerking my legs, arms, etc. Since I've altered (changed) my meds, I've been "jerky" free. : ) Good Luck
