Violet, Klaus and Sunny go to live in the Village of Fowl Devotees, where they meet a man called Hector who is building a large mobile home like a hot air balloon, and they get putin jail for supposedly murdering Count Olaf. I'm not going to say anymore because I'm guessing that you haven't read the book if you are asking this question, so I won't give anymore away.
If you are talking about A.R than it is probably about 6 or 7 points all of the books are alot of points.
in The Series of Unfortunate Events V.F.D. stands for Very Fancy Doilies in book six, and Village of Fowl Devotees in book 7, but it really stands for Volunteer Fire Department and Villains Fire Department.
VFD can mean a lot of things, which is unknown what it really means. In book 7, it means Village of Fowl Devotees, in book 8, it stood for Volunteer Fighting Disease. The real meaning of VFD is possibly Volunteer Fire Department, but it is still unknown that.

Well, it's all a bit confusing at first. Flanagan started writing Books 5 and 6 when he realized that he skipped over a very crucial part in Will's apprenticeship. Therefore, the events in Book 7 occur before Books 5 and 6--Book 7 is at the very end of Will's apprenticeship. Book 8, however, gets things back to normal, occuring after the events in 5 and 6. So, I suppose, Book 7 is a prequel of some sorts.
Yes there are hidden messages in a Series of Unfortuante Events. if you really got into the book you'd be able to tell what the hidden messages are. It's hard to really tell though because Lemony Snicket gives good descriptions of everything so you'd have to really dig deep to find them.
