When the mountain lion attacks Little Ann and Old Dan... the second time :)
Old Dan dies because of the fight with the mountain lion. Billy decides to take Old Dan and Little Ann back home, where he can doctor their wounds. While walking, Old Dan's entrails fall out and gets tangled in a bush. Billy stuffs it back in (I know... pretty gross) and carries Old Dan back home. Billy's mama tries to wash the entrails and puts it back inside, but Old Dan dies anyways. The next day, Billy buries Old Dan by a tree.
he fights a mountain lion and he gets ripped open and his guts fall out. Little ann decides there's nothing to live for, goes to old dan's grave, lays there, and dies. :-(
No, once Old Dan dies, she loses her will to live
The book: "Where the Red Fern Grows" talks about a mountain lion about two times. First part of the first half of the book talks about him acquiring the two individual pups and camping in a cave for the next morning. But a mountain lion disturbs his sleep by shrieking and the two pups make an effort to go up to the entrance of the cave an howl with the mountain lion. The second part of the book is when the mountain lion hurts Old Dan and later dies. Then Little Ann dies after because of grief.I don't know which page you want but I have both parts.Page 45 is when he buys the dogs and hears a hellish roar though he thought it was a woman screaming at first.Page 224 is when he encounters the mountain lion giving a description of how he looked. It's 179 pages away from each other.Hope this helped in whatever your doing!
In "Where the Red Fern Grows," Billy used spider web to stop Old Dan's bleeding after he was severely injured in a fight with a mountain lion. Billy remembered advice from his grandfather about using spider web as a natural way to help wounds clot and stop bleeding.
After Old Dan died fighting the mountain lion she slowly died of depression and grief and no longer felt the will to live. Loved the story, great book
They got attacked by a mountain lion while hunting. Old Dan got really torn up and Little Ann was really injured. Old Dan died first and Billy buried him, then Little Ann ran away and Billy found her dead on Old Dan's grave from her injuries.AnswerNo that is not true but almost. I read the book this year with my class that's how I know. Old dad does die of a bad injury and Little Ann does get injured and run away but she doesn't die "because of the injuries". She died of a broken heart on Old Dan's grave.
