Exporting contacts 1. go to palm desktop on your PC 2. export your contacts from there to Microsoft outlook or windows contacts. 3. go onto itunes, click on your iPhone, select the contacts tab. 4. import contacts from Microsoft outlook or windows contacts. This may not work as i have a very old version of palm desktop. THIS EXPLANATION ONLY WORKS IF YOU HAVE PALM DESKTOP.
There is a free iTunes App called My Contacts backup. The app allows you to export all your iPhone contacts and to send it to yourself via Email, making it quite easy to import the contacts on the new iPhone.

You have to get the Sony Ericsson Suite to copy them all into my Windows contacts. Tidied them up a bit, then synchronised with iTunes. Or you can synchronize your phone directly via GPRS/3G to PhoneCopy.com and then use PhoneCopy for iPhone App to get contacts to your iPhone. And you get cloud backup of your contacts as benefit.
