Which one? The March Revolution or the Bolshevik/November Revolution? I'm just going to assume you want to know about both.
The March Revolution forced the czar to abdicate the throne and put a democratic Provisional Government that was planned to rule until something permantent could be put into place.
The Bolshevik Revolution was the takeover of the Prosvisional Government by the Bolshevik minority in Petrograd Soviet. The Bolsheviks created a communist regime and renamed the country and the territories under its control the Soviet Union.
It was the weakness of the Russian Monarchy under Tsar II, it was also due to inflation of bread too.
It began because the Russians were already unsatisfied with the Czar. The losses in WWI only helped to put the revolution in motion.
Before the Russian Revoultion they were called the Bolsheviks and after it was the Communist party of the Soviet Union. Today the main communist party is the Communist party of the Russian Federation which today is one of the largest political parties in the Russian Diet (Paraliment)
UK and most of the western Europeans supported the Loyalists, but the Bolsheviks prevails in the end. Anarchists played an important role in the revolution too
