The Bible tells us that Jesus was not idle while His body rested in the tomb. He first decended into Hades. Then He went to Abraham's Bosom to send the saints to their reward in heaven. When he rejoined his body on Sunday morning He walked the earth for 40 days, appearing to his disciples to prove that He was rising from the dead. He instructed them to tell the world what they had witnessed and to carry on His ministry and the task of saving souls. At the end of the 40 days He ascended to heaven to be with the Father.
