In the late 1960's Los Angeles, CA Charles Manson an ex-con and his motley crew known as the Family killed 8 people (one an unborn baby) on 2 different nights in August 1969. They were all found guilty and sentenced to death. Later their sentences were commuted to life because of a Supreme Court ruling.
Susan Atkins has since died but the remainder of the murderers are alive and well, including Charles Manson, in California prisons.
