The City of Dresden was nearly level and thousands were killed. The Allied Forces regretted dropping the bombs on that city since it was a "spiritual city and historical city". Very few military marks were in Dresden and it was not worth it. It had no real military value. The Allies did help the people to rebuild and restore what they could of the city later on.
