London Bridge was not a traffic bridge, but a natural rock arch formation in the landform known as the "Twelve Apostles". Located off the southern coast of Victoria, it was severely eroded by both the strong southern winds and the high swells of the Southern Ocean. It succumbed to the erosion and the arch collapsed on 15 January 1990. Since then, several others among the formation have also collapsed.
