After her mother's death, Madame Royale remained alone at the Temple prison with her aunt, Madame Elisabeth, while her brother was locked in another cell. She remained unaware of her mother's passing, just like she was unaware of her aunt's who would be beheaded not too long after Marie Antoinette. After her aunt's death, she remained alone in prison without being able to see her brother, nor anyone. After the Terror period, things went a little better for her and she was allowed to see a girl who became her friend, "Reinette", who informed her of her mother's fate and her aunt's. Her brother would die in 1795 and she would be freed and sent to her Austrian family in exchange for French prisoners upon her 17th birthday. She would join her father's side of the family later on, marry her cousin, Duc d'Angoulême, and spend the rest of her life for the most part in exile. She did not have any children.
