Mark Twain had four children, three of whom died during his lifetime. His son Langdon died at 19 months from diphtheria, his daughter Susy died at 24 from spinal meningitis, and his youngest daughter Jean died at 29 from a heart attack. Only his daughter Clara outlived him.
