Nuclear Weapons were only used for any purpose besides testing in the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. All other nuclear detonations were tests and were conducted over ocean or in isolated locations, where the results were minimal. In Hiroshima and Nagasaki, straight off, tens of thousands of people were killed, with many more following dying of radiation poisoning and related effects.
