The mole, from the German word "mal" which means mark can often be confused with either a malignancy such as malignant melanoma or a benign mimicker such as a seborrheic keratosis. Although trauma is the most common cause for bleeding, any bleeding "mole" needs to be evaluated due to the potential for malignancy.
