Dog food is perfectly safe for humans to eat, although the flavor leaves something to be desired. You do not have to worry about the consequences of eating dog food, the consequences are the same as they would be for any other food that you eat.

∙ 13y agoThe most likely thing that will happen is obestity. My dog learned from the start that she wasn't supposed to eat people food because we refused to give it to her. Now she doesn't even beg for it. Dogs are supposed to eat dog food (preferably kibble because getting gormet food is a waste of money). If you just refuse to give your dog food they'll understand, but, if you give them people food every now and then, this confuses them and they don't know it's not aloud to eat people food.
