The engine or an engine?
In a single-engine craft, this is usually worst case scenario. You have no power, so that means no speed. no speed means no lift. No lift means not flying. Not flying means crashing. Unless something can be done to start the engine again (or if the pilot is able to glide down slowly enough) then that plane will crash. Often the choice is how and where to crash, not whether, if the engine fails.
In a multiple-engine craft, especially where there are two remaining engines, the still functioning engines can provide enough power to get the aircraft safely landed, should the pilot know how to do so. However, if all engines fail, then the situation is roughly the same as above.
Almost always. Unless the airplane happens to be an ultralight, or the car happens to be a Hummer.
The engine stops.
Engine STOPS abruptly usually after hearing a series of "Raps"
death happens if the airplane is over 20000 feet
