First, if you've added oil to the radiator or to the coolant reservoir but not yet started the engine, you should be able to remove almost all of it. Using anything from a pump to a syringe, suck out all the oil you can; being lighter than water it should be floating on top of the coolant. Once the engine has been run, some of the oil may have circulated and become unreachable. But go ahead and remove any oil possible. The radiator has a "stopcock", or valve, at the bottom. If you drain, fill, and drain the radiator completely a couple of times, most of the oil should rinse out. (Be sure to refill both the radiator and the coolant reservoir!) Then, when you think most of the oil is out (and the radiator is full with water or coolant!) it's best to drive to a nearby garage and explain what happened. They can perform a reverse flush under pressure, hopefully removing all the contaminant. (If no one nearby can service your radiator, and you've not been able to remove most of the oil, you may wish to have the vehicle towed.) One problem with oil in the radiator is that the tiny channels through which water travels and carries away engine heat can become clogged with the oil. The result could be a seriously overheated and damaged engine. Another problem is that the oil can cause premature breakdown of hoses or seals.

What happens when you accidentally put coolant where motor oil goes?

You drain the oil immediately. If you run the engine with coolant mixed with the oil you will do serious harm to the engine. If you continue to drive it in this condition you will destroy the engine.

Then you need to "accidentally" remove it ... pronto, which may mean flushing out the entire coolant system if the engine has been run.

What happens if you accidentally put oil in the coolant reservoir?

You are screwed! Get that radiator flushed by a profesional ASAP! ANOTHER SUGGESTION DO NOT RUN THE MOTOR HAVE IT TOWED TO A PROFESSIONAL. IF YOU DID RUN THE ENGINE GOODLUCK BUDDY HOPEFULLY IT DIDN'T AFFECT THE ENGINE IF SO YOUR GONNA HAVE A HELL OF A TIME REPLACING ALL THOSE HOSES AND YOUR RADIATOR AND HAVING YOUR COOLANT LINE REPLACED.

What happens if you accidentally put coolant in where your oil goes?

I'm not a mechanic / technician but what I would do is : *** first , don't start the engine *** if you do that the coolant will be in your oil filter etcetera - remove the oil pan drain plug and let the oil drain out until it stops dripping ( or almost ) - while the drain plug is out of the oil pan add a little bit of new engine oil to the engine and let it drain out ( I would do that two or three times ) - reinstall the oil pan drain plug and then put in new engine oil ( don't forget the engine oil filter is still full so you won't need as much oil as a regular oil change )

What happens if you put oil in your antifreeze?

Nothing if you drain it out and flush the cooling system. Oil is not a good coolant, and the water pump will have a hard time pumping it, so the vehicle will overheat if you do not remove the oil.
