You get discharged from the military and you go home, that is unless the reason for your discharge is related to criminal activity. In the event it is, first you go to the stockade/brig, then perhaps to Leavenworth, then perhaps home.
That depends on the type of discharge. If you are discharged honorably, for medical reasons or "for the convenience of the government" (a wonderful phrase!) you will likely suffer no lasting effects. If you are dishonorably discharged, you could have problems finding civilian employment in many fields.
Depends on what you are kicked out for. If it is not criminal you will probably get discharged with an administrative discharge. If it is more serious you could end up with an "other than honorable" discharge.
