Dreams of death can have completely different meanings to persons in different circumstances. One possibility is a longing for or fear of something ending that is very important in your life. For example, a student approaching graduation might dream of dying because an important time of life - being a student - would be coming to an end. That situation is always a mixture of fear and anticipation, both beginning and ending.
Similarly, one might dream of death if one fears losing a job. That would be entirely natural, since in our culture our identity and sense of who we are is very closely related to the work that we do.

The healthy reaction, in which you simply wake up.
Or the unhealthy reaction (during which your heart stops as well as your breathing), in which you linger in the dream in severe pain.
Or you could have the absolute worst scenario and die like in #2, but wake up in the same dream, and die the same way, multiple times in a row

Dreams do not cause one to die. People sometimes die suddenly in their sleep, but their deaths are caused by heart attacks, aneurysms or other medical reasons, not by their dreams. [see attached link for more information about dreams of death.]
I fell to my death in a dream and I didn't die.
So don't believe such nonsense and turn off the tv & internet and start living your life.
