I would expect that you have as many dreams as your body considered necessary. But it is not uncommon for folk to not remember their dreaming - there is not much need to, as it is a subconscious process.

However, all people of normal health do have dreams whilst asleep. Many do not remember them.

In your nightly sleep pattern there are several phases of REM sleep - Rapid Eye Movement sleep, and if people are woken immediately the REM sleep has stopped they will be able to tell you their dreams. This phase of sleep is accompanied by rapid eye movements believed to follow the actions in the dream. Have a crack at REM in Wikipedia.
