Please don't do this! Puppies need a lot of vitamins and a good healthy start while they are growing and developing. They also need food that will provide more fat and carbs to burn. If they don't get it, they will seem sluggish and won't develop as they should. Senior dog food is made to have a lot of that stripped out because older dogs don't get much exercise and you don't want them to get fat.

∙ 10y agoPuppy food is intended for dogs under a year old; it is very caloric compared to other pet chow and has a high fat content because it is made to provide extra fuel for a young, growing animal. Senior dogs, on the other hand, are less active and need few calories and much less fat; they should be fed kibble that is produced specifically for their needs. An older canine that eats a diet of puppy chow will likely gain an unhealthy amount of weight in a relatively short time.
