Some fish may somehow be able to know beforehand that a tsunami is coming and make retreat to safer areas. Others may simply be in a sheltered area by chance. Many fish may be carried inland with the tsunami. Some of these fish will be lucky and get carried back out to sea unharmed. Others may be killed by debris in the tsunami, or stranded on dry land.

∙ 13y agomost of them died because they cant take such strong waves like that, plus all of the things they have to go through when the water is in the process of flooding the land. The fishes would be getting dragged and getting caught in things during the tsunami, sadly.

∙ 13y agoAnimals, including fish have a built in sense of identifying earthquakes, which we are still unaware of. Some species of ship come to the top just before an earthquake. So they may be able to detect the upcoming disaster during a tsunami.
