Albinism is a condition where the body lacks an enzyme called tyrosinase, which forms pigment. Pigment is found in skin, hair, and eyes, so with this lack of pigment albino animals (and people) have white hair, white or pink skin, and red or pink eyes. Albinism is a birth defect. Albinos are only born once every 17,000 births. With this lack of pigment it results health problems, like poor vision, and extreme sensitivity to sunlight.

(I know all this by heart because I did two reports on albinism, you're welcome)

What happens when a albino is born in the wild?

it will most likely die in the wild mostly because the offspring would then mate and then possibly reproduce more of its kind then the habitat would flood with albino. Then albino would think they were the grater species and killing the non albino. However if a albino is born and taken to a zoo of some sort it would have a grater chance of having solving. seeing the fact that it is away from almost any kind of danger.

What is an albino kangaroo?

Albino kangaroos, or white kangaroos are quite rare. In an albino kangaroo, the normal colouring is absent, and the kangaroo has white fur and sometimes (not always) pink eyes. As with all albino animals, albino kangaroos have a reduced amount of melanin pigment in the eyes, skin, and hair. Albino kangaroos rarely survive long in the wild. Their eyes and skin have increased sensitivity to sunlight, so they are more prone to sunburn. Their lack of camouflage (white colouring stands out in the wild) also makes them easy targets for predatory animals and birds of prey. Albino kangaroos often have impaired vision as well, so may find it more difficult to dodge predators. Apart from that, they are just as healthy as their normal coloured counterparts. Albinism is rare among wild animals but common among some domesticates species What factors might account for this difference?

Albinism is rare among wild animals but quite common among some domesticated species. This is because in the wild, albino animals would not have a chance to survive and breed.

Where does an albino python live?

Albino snakes do not live anywhere in particular. Albino is not a species, but rather a color variety that results from a defect in a gene that codes for black pigment. Albinism can occur in most animals, including many species of snake. However, albino animals, such as snakes, rarely live long in the wild as their light color makes them an easy target for predators. The vast majority of albino snakes live in captivity.

Where do albino corn snakes live?

albino corn snakes are very rarely born in the wild.they almost always are bred in captivity. when born in the wild they are easy to spot, and therefore are easy prey for anything that is big enough to eat it.

Are albino snakes endangered?

No. Albino snakes are not a specific group of animals, and thus cannot be defined as endangered or not. Albinism is a recessive genetic trait that can occur in many species ranging from fish to humans. Albino animals rarely live long in the wild as their light color meas they are easily spotted by predators and, if the animal is a predator, their prey. The lack of pigment leaves them vulnerable to ultraviolet radiation.

What are the names of all albino animals?

An albino animal is an animal that is competently white. They also have red eyes. Albino animals are rare to see in zoos and the wild. Most albinos can't see, so the wild albinos usually die. Zoo kept albinos are rare because in breeding it is difficult to get an albino in the first place. As you see in the picture, two ostriches are completely white. Those are albino ostriches. But not every white animal you see is albino. It has to ave pink skin around the eye and a red eye. Just because you see a white dog or cat does not mean it is albino.
