When in hibernation, an animal would rest(sleep) in it's habitat until it is spring. Once in hibernation, the animal's heart rate slows down. That way, the animal can save more fat to be warm during the cold winters night.
It sleeps.
they go into hibernation for the entire winter which is 3 months
There are many animals besides bears that go into hibernation every year. Some species of bat hibernate as do hedgehog, squirrel, dormice and even some birds.
Animals stay alive in hibernation as this is a natural process.
The animals heart rate slows, breathing slows its sorta like yoga....but for months
some animals that can survive the winter and not the summer go for long summer sleep.
The difference between hibernation and estivation. Hibernation - when animals such as mice and bees and chipmunks and such sleep during winter and live off of fat and food energy that they store for when they go into a deep sleep. Estivation - when animals such as frogs and toads go into a deep sleep when it gets too warm.
it helps them by telling them when to wake up and where to go
When bears go to sleep in the winter, it is called Hibernation. Squirrels, birds, and other animals who dislike the cold do the same thing.
Hibernate or hibernation
Many animals hibernate during colder months, so they enter hibernation in autumn, sleep through winter, and come out in spring. Sometimes hedgehogs rouse from hibernation near the end of autumn, but they get back to it for winter.
